Louisville man charged in Great American Tower drone strike

A drone expert at Ohio University said some people who use drones recreationally may not actually know how to fly them.

Consumers don’t have to be certified or trained before getting an unmanned aerial vehicle, said Michael Braasch, an electrical engineering professor at OU. “It’s a piece of cake, you can buy them off Amazon,” he said.

It’s not clear if this is the case for Michael Baldwin, a Louisville man whose drone struck and damaged Great American Tower Downtown Aug. 4.
